Five years behind the camera. A brand new name.

I've filmed over 100 weddings in the last five years — but until now, you'd have seen the work under someone else's name. I've spent half a decade as the person actually holding the camera, from the early getting-ready shots nobody else caught, the vows at the right angle, to the chaotic dancing.

That experience — the timing, the instinct for a moment that's about to happen, staying calm when the timeline falls apart — doesn't reset just because I'm starting my own studio. I've learned a lot working alongside some of Scotland's best wedding videographers, and I'm bringing all of it with me.

What is new is the name. I'm building this studio from scratch, which means you'd be one of my first couples booking under my own name. In return, you get founder's attention: I'm not juggling ten other weddings that season, and I'm not handing your day off to a shooter you've never met.

  • Ewan Stewart is the founder and director of Prickly Thistle Video, bringing over 20 years of filmmaking expertise to every project he takes on. Before establishing Prickly Thistle Video, Ewan spent 15 years honing his craft working with creative agencies and video production companies, building a wealth of knowledge and experience across every aspect of production and post-production.
